BLACK PUDDING COMPANY WINS 4 GOLD MEDALS IN THE BEST IN BRITAIN COMPETITION

The Real Lancashire Black Pudding Co has reaffirmed their place as ‘Britain’s most highly decorated black pudding makers’ after last Sunday’s ‘National meat products competition’ which was held at Birmingham’s N.E.C . The company entered 3 different Black puddings and one Irish white pudding and won a ‘Gold medal’ for each product.

This brings the companies tally of awards over the last 20 years to an amazing 176. They have won awards in France, Belgium, Germany, Holland and Austria, but the British awards mean the most to them.

‘It is really great to win awards which endorse the quality of our products’ said M.D Andrew Holt. ‘Our dedicated team work very hard to maintain our high standards and winning accolades such as these makes them very proud of what they do’.

One of the Black puddings entered in the competition was made by Andrew’s son Brett. He is probably the only third generation Black Pudding Maker in the country. Brett used a recipe which he got from his Grandad Joe who used to make puddings in Waterfoot.  “Joe Has never divulged his recipe to me” said Andrew. “I suppose I should be Happy with a draw, because Joe did have a very good reputation for his puddings”.
